0CT / NEWSLETTER 2018

It's that time again....how quickly a month passes. Here's the  schedule of entertainment and menus that we hope will please. And we have a birthday to celebrate! Read on.....

October heralds in the chillier weather but before we wrap up and hibernate for the winter we are hoping for a lovely sunny day on the17th as we head off for our trip to Broadview Gardens near Tonbridge.
Looking back to September we had a colourful visit from  Rattlebag who led us through the seasons with entertaining (sometimes educational!) songs and words. Here they are with  wonderful handmade costumes,  and twisted ash branches.

MOPP - AGM Meeting 2018

It was also the month to hold our AGM which, unusually for such meetings, was both informative and entertaining. Thank you Robert! The hall was buzzing as we were joined by invited guests who have most generously donated money or time to MOPP over the past year. Felicity delivered a report on behalf of members and we listened to Robert highlight the achievements of the previous year, including:
 Financial performance - income targets exceeded and costs below budget.  The success of Fairlight Open Gardens and the resulting £4,450 donation to MOPP.  Over £1,500 raised by our own fundraising events.  Restarting the popular excursion programme.  Recruiting three new volunteers.  Raising awareness of MOPP.
October promises to be a busy month with our trip to Broadview Gardens on the 17th and some Halloween fun on the 26th!

However, the highlight of the month will surely be the celebration of MOPP's 10th birthday on 5th October. We will be entertained by the singing duo, Jade and Char, and hope to be joined by our local MP, Amber Rudd, for a lunch of roast beef and Yorkshire puddings.

Be there - or miss out!

"WHO ATE ALL THE PIES?"

Well it wasn't Margo!! She just cooked up this beauty, and more besides, for us all last week. A triumph!
What would we do without Margo and Mandy (sounds like a film title!) our wonderful kitchen duo?!
Turn over and you will find another month of yummy menus!
You will also see a cracking line-up of entertainment with an emphasis on music this month, in a wide variety of forms.
Coming up: Fairfest on 29 July and Hastings Old Town Carnival Week 28 July - 5 August.
As always, it's 07786 835181 if you need to contact me.
