The lovely Brian Watson left us on August 18th and will be surely missed by everyone at MOPP's Friday Lunch Club. Brian was a member for a long time and always brought with him a cheer, laugh and the odd joke.
May he rest in peace..
We at Mopp's Friday Lunch Club were saddened at the recent passing of Alison Pont, one of the longest reigning members since the club opened in 2008.
Alison was a lovely Lady and always enjoyed her time each week, singing and dancing and was also involved as a member of the Village Voices choir.
We send our deepest sympathy to her Daughter and Son-in-law Wendy and Ken Hatch and Family.
May she rest in eternal peace.

Sadly, we lost yet another long time member in May of 2021. Lovely Linda as we called her who had sadly lost her own Partner Ken the previous August 2020. They were such a lovely couple who always loved a good laugh, a gamble on the BINGO and a good sing song. Pictured here at a Mopps outing to Folkstone in 2019 enjoying a delicious afternoon tea.
Remembering dear Connie who sadly passed in May 2021
Yet another one 'Gone Too Soon!'
Marie Biles who had been a member of MOPP from the very beginning.
She was to turn 99 years young this coming May and told me that she'd like to have a huge party to celebrate when this terrible Pandemic was over!
Marie always enjoyed her weekly visit to Mopp's to chat amongst friends and always had a good apetite when lunch was served. She was a wonderful, kind and caring Lady and will be sorely missed. May Marie rest in eternal peace.
It is with great sadness that we say farewell to yet another long time member of MOPP - Mrs Violet Pratt
who passed on the 18th November 2020.
Rarely in life do we meet someone as special as Vi. Someone who always puts others first, someone who is kind and generous, compassionate, considerate, fair and opened minded, someone who is courageous and with a great sence of humour. Vi was someone truly special, always cheerful and doing her best to enjoy herself and all that knew her, was aware of her wicked and sometimes saucy sence of humour. She was truly young at heart so we thought we would have her with us for longer but sadly that wasn't to be!
God bless you Val and may you rest in eternal peace.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vee Watts.
She was a long time member of MOPP's and was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by us all. May she rest in eternal peace.

Our condolences to Hugh's Daughter Deborah and Family.
It is with great sadness we learned of the passing of
Esther De Vries.
Esther moved into Fairlight approximately 30 years ago and soon became an active member of the village, joining many of the clubs with her late husband Doug. Val King recalls the many fun WI
meetings and Esther being chair of the Wine Club.
Jim first met her in 1995 when he joined the Fairlight Players, “ My very first play with her
was in 1996 in ‘Fish Out Of Water’. Many members will remember Esther with great fondness for her wonderfully characterful presence on stage, and her warm and friendly nature off.”
Esther and her late Husband Doug attended MOPP’S from the beginning, remembered Sylvia, “ She will be sadly missed.”
I am sure you will all join me in sending our condolences to Esther’s family.
We said a sad farewell to another longtime member of Mopp's last Friday. Sylvia Boiing had been with us from the beginning. She was a lovely, kind artistic and generous Lady who often made donations to our Charity, MOPP. Sylvia will be sorely missed by everyone.
Our thoughts and prayers go to all of her family.
